When I was 5 I was in my bed in the middle of the night. I remember I couldn't sleep because of monkey mind. So I was laying there when I saw somthing strange. A shadow in the shape of a person was right next to my bed, I could only see its head and shoulders because it was so close. At first I thought this was my shadow and I moved my head around to see if it moved with me.
It did not.
Confused I looked at it more. It was transparent like a regular shadow, however I realized that it wasn't projected on the wall but seemed to be 3D. This was course a shock to me since I never saw a 3D shadow before and I started to get nervous. It did not move it just stood there, staring at me with it's nonexistant eyes. I yelled at it a few times to go away but it didn't move.
I then picked up my stuffed animal whose name was "Doggy" (I know creative name right) and threw him at the apparition to see if the thing was solid.
The stuffed animal went right through it and hit the wall behind. I then really started to get properly scared.
The shadow then slowly retreated downward to what 5 year old me assumed was under my bed. I was in shock afterward. Ok this is where the story gets kinda silly. After the thing went away I then saw another shadow, this time near the foot of my bed, that looked like a brontosaurus staring at me. This time I lost it and screamed for my parents.
The moment they opened the door the brontosaurus thing vanished. And both my mom and dad looked around and reassured me that there are no monsters.
